A chance to meet your hero

Posted Wednesday, January 5th, 2011 by .

It is last minute, but word just came over the radio that the Nation League MVP of baseball is coming to your town to meet and greet the fans.  You have been a Red Stripes fan your entire life, and you have been a Joe Rolen fan since he came up from the minor leagues.  You knew he was going to be something special long before everyone else jumped on the bandwagon- and now is your chance to show him!

You need to make this happen, quickly.  There is a way!  Get a plain black T-shirt and some posted board.  Take them both over to your friends’ house to use her parents’ brand new inkjet printer.  They have all of the fancy stuff, like photo printing abilities, multi-media types, different ink cartridge colors, like HP 940XL Magenta ink, and even a scanner!  Bring those 5 year old photos of you wearing his rookie jersey, and the rookie card he signed when he first became the first baseman for the reds.

Scan all of the old Joe Rolen treasures and paste the copies onto the poster board.  Now it is time to make a shirt that will surely make him notice you if the sign doesn’t.  You and I both know that thousands of screaming little girls will be there with shirts on that say “I love you JR” or “JR is the MVP of my heart”.  So you need to be unique, and stand out. Make sure to catch his eye with bright colors that will be clear and vivid, thanks to the high-quality ink, like HP 02 Cyan ink this printer uses.

Think hard.

Perhaps you can use the picture of you and him from training camp 4 years ago and write in big bright letters, “I have loved you since the beginning” or “I saw this coming 4 years ago”.  Use that printer and sharp Canon CLI-221y ink to be big and bold, and make sure your hero doesn’t look right past you.
