Cheap birthday decorations

This year, the first of what you hope to be a number of kids was born.  It was the most exhilarating experience of your young life, but it surely kept you out of commission for a while.  Though all of this was to be expected, what you weren’t expecting was your husband to lose his job.  After working for the same company for 12 years, his position was eliminated in an attempt to reduce spending by the company.  He got a nice severance and will collect unemployment wages until he can find something else, but starting a new family on half the planned budget has been tough.

The baby is turning 1, and you just have to have a party.  However, food and diapers have to come first, and there is no money left over this month.  Especially with the water bill being so high!  So, it is time to get creative and crafty.  You have a big stack of plain paper and an inkjet printer, now you just have to download the right software and templates.

First, you can make invitations.  Include the important information like the date, time and location.  Be sure to give an RSVP phone number and a theme if there is one.  Next, it is time to make decorations.  Find some clip art on the internet and maybe even load some pictures you have taken on your digital camera.  You can even find templates that will make it simple to organize pictures and art in a decorative manner.

Of course, you have to make a banner.  Use the largest font that can be used for a single letter to fit onto a sheet of paper.  Spell out Happy Birthday Nick, a letter per page.  Use some scotch tape to connect them, and you have a welcoming banner to let everyone know who and what is being celebrated.  Your family will recognize the effort, and your baby will appreciate the love.
