LaserJet printers are a screenwriters dream

Posted Thursday, August 26th, 2010 by .

Can you imagine how many more plays Shakespeare could have written if he had a computer and an HP LaserJet printer?  He would have been able to print 200 pages in just a few minutes with ease.  Not only that, but his actors would have had easy-to-read copies immediately so they could practice their lines.  Luckily for the modern world, we do have access to these highly efficient machines, and long lasting printer toner.

Being a writer is hard enough without having to worry about the production of your final draft.  You spend months, sometimes years, working on a screenplay, or a play, or even a novel.  They can range from 100-400 pages, maybe even more, and when the day comes that you are finally finished, you will have to print it out and submit it to an editor or publishing company.  The days of saving it on a disk and taking it to Kinkos are over.  With an HP LaserJet toner printer, you can print it out right at home in just a few minutes.  Just make sure you have high-capacity laser toner.

Laserjets are designed for high-volume printing, and are at their best when given a large order.  Make sure you have as many pages as needed loaded into the automatic document feeder, and press print.  Go make yourself a sandwich, and when you come back at least half of the job will be done, if not all.  Depending on the efficiency of your unit, which usually is contingent upon how much money you forked out for it, the time it takes to finish printing will vary.

So if writing movies, plays or books is a career path that you are interested in pursuing, go out and buy an HP LaserJet printer with high yielding toner cartridges.  It will not help you write better, but it will ease your mind when the writing is finished.  Just knowing that within an hour of your last words, a professional rough draft will be ready to give to someone who can make your dreams come true.
