You just got your first job since starting the dental program at your college.  You want to make a good impression, because a good recommendation from a dentist of this stature would go a long way in your endeavors.  So, you want to do something unique and bring something new to the table.  You have a brand new HP 57 ink printer that your parents bought for you when you started grad school, and the time in the evening to be creative.

So, hit the local office supplies store and get some wallet sized cards, similar to business cards.  Look online and find some cute clip art, whether it is the picture of a healthy snack or a dentist’s chair.  Make sure you put the dentist’s name as well as the office phone number and fax number.  You may also want to put his email address and hours of operation.  The most important part of this card is having two lines available to be written on- one that says date and time, and the other with the patient’s name.

You do have a color printer with multiple HP 45 ink cartridges that will allow you to explore virtually any color, but you want to keep it simple and professional as well.  Print off hundreds of these little cards with ‘Appointment’ written in bold letters across the top so patients don’t lose track of them.  They can hang them up at their desk, or on the fridge at home. 

You have printed hundreds of cards, and walk into work, a bit nervous if your idea will go over so well.  You say good morning, and show the other girls what you have made.  Not only do they love it, but they get the head cheese and tell him about it.  He congratulates you on your ambition and says he thinks you will make a fine dentist someday.  All thanks to your awesome HP printer and professional-quality HP 940XL CYan ink cartridges.
