Recycling your toner cartridges

Posted Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010 by .

One of the hottest trends right now among businesses is to try to be as eco-friendly as possible; therefore, if you are running a business, it might be a good idea for you to try to find new ways to do your part to help save the environment.  For instance, if you know that you do a high volume of printing at your place of work, then it might be smart for you to start finding out about whether or not your printer toner cartridges are something you could recycle.

Do you know what happens to an Oki C5100 toner cartridge if it is not recycled?  It’s going to end up in one of the many landfills across the country just wasting space.  As these landfills start to become full, more natural wildlife is going to have to be destroyed to make room for the waste products that no one is bothering to recycle.  So, you should try to protect the environment by disposing of your cartridges in a thoughtful manner.

If you’re new to the concept of recycling, don’t fear; it’s actually quite easy to recycle your Samsung CLP-660 toner, for instance.  It might serve you well to read through a couple of different articles posted on the internet that relate to this topic.  By doing so, you’ll know exactly what you need to do in order to partake in the recycling process.

To start recycling, collect a sufficient number of cartridges to send in to the recycling center.  This won’t be that hard to do if you do a high volume of printing; however, you don’t have an excuse not to recycle even if you only print out a few things each week.  You can just save them up in a safe place until you have enough to send out.

The recycling company will provide you with shipping tags to put on your Lexmark toner once you’ve filled out a short form that gives them some basic information about the toner and your address.  You don’t even have to leave your home in order to engage in the recycling process!  It also won’t cost you any money whatsoever to engage in this program, so you have absolutely no excuse not to start recycling right away.
