It is fairly difficult for the end user to improve upon a HP product without any experience, but there is something that you can do with HP printers to increase the overall quality of the printing. By purchasing high quality HP toner, it is possible for you to improve the overall output of your printer. If you are in the market for new HP toner, then be sure to perform a full search to find your best options.

You might not know this, but toner is only used for laser printers. If you have an inkjet printer, then you need to purchase ink cartridges. Toner is a dry powder that is electrically charged during the process that transfers onto the paper to complete the printing procedure. Toner never comes as part of the printer; it is contained in a separate cartridge that is inserted into the printer. Each cartridge can typically print thousands of pages. The usage of a cartridge makes it easier for you to replace expired products with ease. Cartridges offer portability and speed with the replacement process.

Before toner was used in laser printers, the industry standard was carbon powder. The carbon powder was combined with a polymer to develop each printed page. The heat from the fuser would melt the toner cartridge elements onto the paper. Today, there are two main types of toner that are used in cartridges. These include Styrene Acryl ate Copolymer or Polyester Resin. The laser printer toner cartridge formulations vary by manufacturer and even vary per machine or model. This results in various sizes and shapes of cartridges.  For instance, Oki toner cartridges would never fit into an HP machine.

If you purchase toner directly from HP, then you are buying the OEM brand product. HP is the OEM in this situation. These cartridges are produced by HP and they are completely new. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. There are generic brands available that are typically less expensive when compared to the OEM. These offer equal printing quality, but not all generics are equally as efficient as the OEM. If the manufacturer of the generic is not trustworthy, then they might not produce a high quality product. It is important that you perform extensive research on a generic manufacturer before you purchase your hp toner from them.
