Most people go to local printer supply stores when their toner is running low.  Some will even hit up the Walgreens down the street to find replacements.  This certainly is the fastest way to get new toner, but definitely not the cheapest.  Most common folk prefer the ‘right now’ way of doing things, and local retailers is just that.  What people fail to realize is how easy it is to save money, if you can stand to wait one more day or be more aware when toner is low.

Let’s say you have an HP 4700 printer and are in need of some replacement HP 4700 toner.  There are so many choices, but the most affordable is going to be third party vendors online that have remanufactured and compatible options.  You can look at a few sites and compare prices, find the best one and order.  Some companies will even offer free shipping.

The thing about local stores, there isn’t much competition around, so they jack up the prices.  Online, there are so many vendors all competing for your business that the prices are continuously changing.  Companies have coupons and specials that offer even bigger discounts.  This of course is not limited to HP toner.  You can find Dell, Canon, and Brother toner cartridges, etc.

Another way to save some money and be well-prepared is to buy in bulk.  Most companies will offer wholesale pricing which will lessen the cost of each individual laser toner cartridge.  Again, with orders over a certain dollar amount, these companies will ship for free.

Toner is in high demand around the world.  People are always looking for a way to save an extra few bucks, and online vendors are one way to do it.  The quality of third party toner will be just as good as OEM, but half the price.  That is a guarantee.
