Toner recycling is easy

Posted Monday, April 12th, 2010 by .

Have you ever given some thought to the fact that when you print out documents and graphic designs, that this might have a negative impact on the environment? It’s something you should consider, because each time you throw out toner cartridges and are not involved in a recycling program, you are contributing to waste that is just going to end up in a landfill. Your HP LaserJet toner that you love to use will be added to the piles of waste that are already taking up too much space.

Luckily, it’s quite easy to recycle your HP 5500 toner. In fact, you can recycle almost any kind of ink cartridges that you happen to use. The ink cartridges that you recycle through a program do not have to be the same kind that you currently use or are purchasing. You can still get rid of your used cartridges in a way that will not harm the earth in any way.

If you aren’t sure what companies engage in toner recycling, it might be a good idea to start asking around. It’s quite easy to find out which companies do recycle because they typically advertise that they do on their website. You can go through a few different websites until you find one that is put up by a company that encourages recycling; then, you can simply use this company for all your printing needs.

Perhaps ask your boss if they might be willing to donate cartridges to a company that recycles. They should be happy to assist you in this endeavor. Get some co-workers in on the process. Once you start showing them how easy it is to recycle, they might be encouraged to recycle in other aspects of life.

The nice thing about sending in empty toner cartridge to be recycled is that you never have to even leave the house. Rather you just put the empties in the box and ship them out with the prepaid labels. This is great because it eliminates one excuse people always use.
