Use your inkjet printer to make jerseys

Tired of paying for shirts for your softball team every year?  New players join, and returning players want different numbers or names on the jerseys.  It can cost up to $20 per shirt every year and that starts to add up.  It is time to find a more cost-effective way to provide new uniforms annually for the team, and thankfully you have recently invested in a Brother inkjet printer.

First thing is first, gather all the names and numbers, and decide on the logo that will be on the front of the shirt.  If you have a sponsor, download their logo from the internet, or inquire with them about what they would like displayed on the front of the jerseys.  They may even give you the freedom to create your own design.

Use the software provided by the manufacturer, such as Brother, as a guide for not only creating or loading graphics, but enhancing the colors and precision.  You can even purchase special colors of certain inkjet cartridges that will install into the unit and give the shirt a more eye-catching brightness and flare.  And don’t forget, you can help the environment by recycling cartridges, unlike ink sticks.

If you head to the local linen store, solid color shirts can usually be found for a very reasonable price in bulk.  So everyone on your team may be required to throw in $5 rather than $20.  Choose the shirt color you want, and be sure on the way home that you swing by the local office supply store and pick up some iron-on transfer paper.

When you get back home, print a few test pages on regular paper to make sure the spacing is even and the graphics are centered.  Then put your transfer paper in the printer and start.  Heat up your iron, and lay out the shirts on a solid, flat surface.  Place the printed graphic on the shirt, and iron it on.  Within hours, your inkjet printer and high quality Brother ink will not only save you a good amount of money, but also provide your team with jerseys that look professional.
