Valentines from Rebecca

Posted Thursday, January 19th, 2012 by .

Valentine’s Day is approaching, and since you had kids, you view it a lot differently.  In the past, you couldn’t stand to be alone on February 14, and your main concern was flowers and chocolate from the person you love, or who secretly loves you.  Since getting married, the anxiety has depleted, and now it has become a date night for you and your husband.  Flowers and chocolates still go a long way, but conversation and alone-time have come to mean more.

Your kids love Valentine’s Day, too.  Your oldest daughter is in the 2nd grade, and she is already popular.  She not only wants to give everyone in her class valentines, but also all of the 1st and 3rd graders that occupy the same floor of the school.  Don’t forget about the teachers, principal and bus driver.  Unfortunately, money has been tight since the family upgraded to a much larger house upon learning that the bundle of joy growing in your belly was not alone… that’s right, twins!

Do not fret.  The laser printer that your husband got for work will be able to help.  All you have to do is purchase some paper and search online for pictures of hearts and chocolate and flowers and teddy bears.  Kids also seem to like themed valentines, so maybe you can find some pictures of a young TV star or singer that is popular amongst pre-teens.  Once you have figured out your theme and design, you can load a template on your computer to make the design fit the paper perfectly.

The laser printer will provide accurate and vivid prints.  It also offers duplex printing, so your design can be double sided.  For instance, putting a picture of someone famous on the front and on the back it can say “Happy Valentine’s Day, from Rebecca”.  This will make your daughter happy to be able to hand out cards to everyone, and it will be friendly to the budget.
