Xerox ink sticks are environmentally friendly

There are various ways to get documents, graphics and photos printed.  You can use laser toner cartridges or liquid inkjet cartridges.  However, those two methods are not exactly environmentally friendly.  The most ‘green’ way to print is to use Xerox ink sticks, or solid ink.  These come in blocks of ink, similar to crayons, and it melted within the printer then applied to the page.  There is not empty cartridge left behind.

This technology is a Xerox exclusive, and upon its inception in the mid-80s has proved to be one of the best options.  Though these Phaser solid ink sticks do cost more than most cartridges, they are simple and minimize the chance of making a mess.  Toner cartridges that hold powder can explode and cover the inside of your device.  If you try to take them out, they can pour all over your skin and clothes, requiring a shower and a trip to JC Penny.

Xerox printers have 4 slots, each a different size.  The four colors, cyan, magenta, yellow and black sticks are all designed to fit specifically in said slot as to eliminate the possibility of an error.  Putting an ink or toner cartridge in the wrong allocated spot can cause serious damage to a printer.

The non-toxic ink sticks are melted and applied to the paper, creating vivid and realistic photos as well as crisp and clear text documents.  Replacement sticks can be pricey.  For instance, a set of 3 Xerox Phaser 8550 ink sticks can cost up to $100.  However, some consumers do not realize that compatible options are available for less than half that price.  These compatible options are guaranteed to have the same high quality as the brand names.

If you are looking for a printer that produces high quality documents and still maintains a level of accountability for the pollution and waste on this planet, a Xerox Phaser ink unit is the only direction to go in.
